Fellow South Dakotans,
Senator Mike Rounds will be hosting a series of Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin Ceremonies to recognize, honor and thank South Dakota’s Vietnam and Vietnam-era veterans for their service, valor and sacrifice.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, the Department of Defense established this program and authorized Commemorative Partners, including Senator Mike Rounds, to distribute lapel pins to Vietnam and Vietnam-era veterans. Living U.S. veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period from November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of location, are eligible to receive one lapel pin. If you or someone you know is a Vietnam or Vietnam-era veteran, Senator Rounds welcomes attendance at these ceremonies for veterans to be presented with a pin and to enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow veterans.
